Language Translation (SAP R/3 4.6C)

We have only one system available and we are about to perform language translation for FR and ES.

Do we perform language translation for FR, ES by creating two different

clients with in one system?

If we create two clients ex: 010 and 020 , configure Target languages (FR,ES) in 010 and supplement language (EN) in 020 with in one system, then language translation will possible ?

Can we perform language translation at Program level? If 'Yes' please provide us relevant OSS notes or detail procedure.

Hi Srinivas,

I don't understand why you want to create two clients for languages.

What one normally needs to do is to run SMLT, create a new language (FR,ES), define supplement language (EN), define the path to Language CDs and schedule import job. Once import job is done you can start supplement job.

As for the client to run import from, you can use 000 or your existing client. If you use 000, later you'll have an option to run client-dependent import to your target client.

Check out this documentation : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/04/c89d3665c45904e10000009b38f839/frameset.htm

Thanks for your feed back Mike. Initially I did the same way as you said. But I am having an issue in SLWA.

1.In SLWA, For Target Lang tab

I had choose FR as target language and then click Create language button

Result:"Not entered as a translation language" message show up under Target language, and

"Suppliment active, language cannot be translated" message under Suppliment

2. Attributes tab

Translate, Hide and Add Client buttons are missing and finally could not able to add Clients.

I sent message to SAP on this issue and they suggested install target language in one system and supplement in different system.

But we have only one system available and we have to perform language translation. So I thought to create two different clients for language translation in single system.

I am new for this language translation task, please correct me if some thing wrong.

Thanks for your reply

Mark,

I just got one small doubt, what was the difference between language transport and language translation?
