Hello Experts :

We have exported shell scripts for execution command , I have few questions around it :

  • 1.Once BODS job is executed from shell command how I would know at Unix side ( from putty interface ) that job finished Successfully or with Error or With Warning ?
  • 2.Are there specific return codes from BODS Execution Shell command and Can I customize my own too ( If I want too ) ?

Thanks

You can always print the output of the shell command using print(exec()). Also you can include the script in a try catch block and catch the exception in the catch block by putting a script which will contain the smtp_to() function. This will send email notification if your job is failing...
2.Are there specific return codes from BODS Execution Shell command and Can I customize my own too ( If I want too ) ?

--the exec() function returns a specific code() for success if the command executed successfully and error

Refer to Data services Reference Guide for more details about the return codes
