Getting "Password has Expired" message

Dear Guys,

I am having one of the weirdest problem while logging into portal. The situation is like this,

My NT password was about to expire (had 6 more days for expiry). I was able to login till yesterday and all of the sudden today, when I was trying to login, I was getting the message "Password has Expired" message in portal login screen. So I went back and changed my NT password and tried to login again into the portal, however I am still getting "Password has Expired" message.

I tried restarting my machine, the portal server but nothing helped. My id is even not locked in portal.

Please help.
