Enable Fuzzy Search for a Field in Enterprise Search

Hi All,

I have enabled Fuzzy search for Enterprise Search but fuzzy search is not working for the fields Manufacturer (MARA-MFRNR) and Manufacturer Part No. (MARA-MFRPN).

Please let me know how can I enable fuzzy search on these two fields ?

SAP Notes 2380272 and 2420764 fixed the issue of Fuzzy Search on Search Material screen.

But Fuzzy Search is not working in Duplicate Check. How to enable this ?

Hi Swati,

From the screen shot above your system is configured to search using Enterprise search. To Setup or to check if is it setup. Please check the tcode ESH_COCKPIT. Or you need to need set this up. Please check this link.

Again config depends on your System version.

Did you try putting a wildcard or use the "contains" keyword?

Thanks for your response.

Wildcard(*) and using search operators (like 'contains') does not comes under Fuzzy Search. They work even without enabling Fuzzy.

For example, If I have a material record with Manufacturer value "MANU1".

If I use wildcard as "MAN*" then it will search that record.

If I use contains as "MAN" then it will search that record.

But, will it be able to search the same record if I search with "MANU-1" or "MANU 1" or "MAUN1" ?

I am expecting this kind of search if Fuzzy Search option works.
