If I run this FM what does it do and can it have an impact on active BC objects which have been moved to customer specific InfoAreas? Thanks

This function module rebuilds the 'Not assigned' InfoObjectCatalogs, i.e. it scans all InfoObjects if they are assigned to any InfoObjectCatalog. If not they will be added to the Not Assigned Catalog. It should not have any impact on existing catalogs. But why do you want to run this function module?
