    HI,

Basis Person is responsible for these activities in many cases- and it also depends ..if developer can do this, with all the access, then he can do many of the configurations part

    1) Post installation steps - configuring integration server

2)Configurations - includes RFC destinations, Partner Profiles, Logical systems , Role creations

    3)SLD configurations

    4) Queue Administration

    5) J2EE engine Administration

    6) Backup/Archiving of messages

    Regards,

    Moorthy

      Hi,

To add to the points mentioned by Moorthy, Basis role involves

      a) Regular monitoring of the Integration Engine and the adapter engine to see how the interfaces are getting executed and whether any of the interface is taking more memory.

      b) Setting up the transport path and transport mechanism thru file system or CMS

      c) Transporting of interfaces, adapter configuration once it is moved into the QA or Prod.

      d) Clear up the log files and keeping a constant eye on this issue as it is very frequent that these log files eat up the memory space.

      Cheers

      JK
