scheduling to destination issue with 4.2 SP3 (Unable to use custom specific name)

Hi Friends, We have recently upgraded 4.1 SP5 with 4.2 SP3. When we schedule webi/crystal , and then set some destination.. File attachment option is removed. When you select "Use specific name" and provide the name as "Testreport.dat", the attachment is getting delivered along with the extension by default as "Testreport.dat.txt". We have some downstream dependancies awaiting for the exact files.

Has anybody found any work around using BO? apart from renaming the files using some script. We would like to know if we can still generate the files from BO. attaching screen shot. Please help!!

Hi Amit, already went thru the sap notes. also raised a case with vendor and got the same reply. I was checking if this change had an impact on any body else using Sap BO 4.2 SP3. If yes, what work around are they following.

We need to generate and have the same file name using BO. that's our requirement since we have downstreams picking up many files this way. We never thought SAP would make a change like this. it was not simplying for us.. it added burden for us.. since downstream are not willing change their process.

am hoping , I am not alone who would get impacted by this.. probably not many must have upgraded yet to 4.2 sp3.

We still on BI 4.1 but yes it's going to impact us also if we will move to BI 4.2

Similar to your scheduling we are also manually adding the format name. It's a big impact on our reporting.otherwise we need to rebuild many reports.

Hopefully SAP will hear enough complaints to reinstate this takeaway!!!!! (But I doubt it).

I opened an incident for this, and was advised that it will be fixed in an upcoming patch for SP04.
