KE28-COPA Top Down Distribution for Centralized Sales Office

Dear all experts,

Need your help.

My client is using a dummy Sales Office Z to collect certain costs that cannot be specified to any Sales Office (for example A, B & C). This cost is posted from journal directly to COPA with other characteristics being entered as well. Sales Office is a mandatory field controlled under Characteristic Group.

During closing, this cost in Z need to be allocated to A, B & C in COPA based on Sales Volume via TDD. However standard SAP is not able to allocate further because value "Z" cannot be removed. User is also not allowed to leave Sales Office blank because the Characteristic Group has set Sales Office as mandatory field.

Any workaround?

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
I'm thinking you can involve another characteristic WWXYZ and have certain rules for this characteristic, such as when sales office is Z, then WWXYZ is blank; when sales office is others like A,B or C, then WWXYZ is filled with same value.
Then you can use WWXYZ as a distribution level characteristic.

Best regards,
Miya

Hi Miya,

Yes, I have implemented that sort of derivation rule to blank the value in Sales Office. But for the past data that already been posted with "Z", it cannot be allocated to A, B or C anymore using standard KE28 (TDD). Anyway, there is nothing much we can do on this past data since this is standard SAP behaviour in KE28.

Sincerely,

Sebastian
