Hi Friends,
What is the best practice, if i have a scenario to implement a portal which needs to have BI Reports, Some Business PAckages, custom developed iViews, etc?
Is it true, that we need to have a seperate portal for BI, seperate portal for Business Packages, etc. And these are being forwared by the main other portal?
Could any one please advice/suggest me with knowledge and document.
Thanks for your time!!!

Hi,
You can integrate BW and other Business packages such as ESS,MSS in the same portal.
refer this pdf to integrate BW3.5
And for ESS

Hi Raghavendra,
I think you are talking about distributed installation of Portal. This is done for load balancing.
For installation of portal you need database also. In the distributed installation the database will be installed in seperated server and the portal in other server and linked to each other.
But other than this BI, Business packages and custom developed iviews can be in the same portal.

Arun

Hi,
The Enterprise Portal itself can handle running of various types of applications developed using different technologies; For creating BI Reports, there is no need to have a separate portal, as you will find "SAP BW Report iView" in the Template section to create an iView for the BI report.
Here is a doc on integrating BW reports in portal.

HI,
A portal's main purpose is to integrate and display all the information a user needs in one place based on roles.
You donot need a separate portal installations for BI,BP etc..
You have a portal and that portal displays information from BI and business packages can also be deployed in the same portal.
