Displaying current BW authorizations in Design Studio

I have been tasked with creating an App that will be leveraged by users with various levels of BW authorizations. In particular, Management Unit. We have a corporate hierarchy on this object. users are given specific BW roles granting access to specific node(s) in the hierarchy. The challenge comes when I want to display the current access levels of this hierarchy as text in the App. My first thought was to have a query run with the hierarchy collapsed to level 1 for the user, then somehow read the member values and display them. ie. "You are viewing data for North America" or "You are viewing USA" Each of these is a specific node on the Mgt Unit hierarchy. I have yet to figure this out. getmembers as an array seems to be the list of the objects, not the nodes of the hierarchy. This is easy in Webi... but I am at a loss in DS.

thanks for any advice/ideas here

    Hi James,

Unfortunately getMembers() does not return hierarchy information, nor is there any other script API that allows you to iterate through a hierarchy. The only option I can think of is to use the Design Studio SDK Community Data Iterator component. It should allow you to iterate through the rows of your data result set with active hierarchy to return the texts of the hierarchy nodes as desired.
