      Hi Wolfgang,

which patchlevel has your SAP kernel if you're upgrading?

You need at least 6.40 patchlevel 109 -> See SAP note 916050

If you're freshly installing, check and post a dev_w logfile which relies in the work directory.

      Regards,

      Pascal

    Hi Wolfgang,

    There are two possibilites:

    1. You entered wrong information of your system:

    IP: 10.30.40.88

    GW Port: 3301

    Host: sv030488

    GW Service name: sapgw01

    SYSNR: 01

    2. If this is all correct, then check if the system is running. Also check the services file if sapgw01 is entered there. Then check if the network services, escpecially DNS is running correct (sv030488 = 10.30.40.88?)

    Regards,

    Pascal

    Hi Pascal,

    I am performing a fresh installation 2004s SR1 Oracle.

    So it should work.

I have had this happen in NW04 ABAP installs. I corrected it by stopping all SAP running procs, and upgrading the entire kernel. Then I'd start SAP (at this stage the Work Processes should stay up), and I'd restart SAPINST. The DDIC-RFC would connect, and all is well.

      Good luck!

If anyone is still looking at this, here is what I did to fix this:

    1. Defined SAPTRANSHOST int he \Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file.

    2. Set the permissions on SAPMNT and SAPLOC for everyone to have "full" permissions.

    3. Stopped the installation, stopped the services, updated the Kernel files, restarted the services

    4. Restarted the installation with the "continue" option

    It's running now.
