BW querry iview

Hi friends,

I have imported the best practices package on my portal.

created the queries in BW and assigned the roles user mapping etc all done.

When I open the executive cockpit overview all I get is the standard adhoc query screen without any data.

When I use the URL in explorer window directly,

http://fqdn:port/sap/bw/bex?cmd=ldoc&template_id=Z_WT_EC_OVERDUE&sap-language=EN

It works fine, but from the ivew preview or from the portal workset assigned to a user the content of the page is just blank.

I am not at all able to get where is the problem as it is not giving any error also.

Please help me find whats wrong.

Thanks and regards,

Afroz

Hi Afroz,

In the system object for BW created in portal check if you have maintained the connector, WAS, user admin, user mapping properties. Right click the system object and check for the test connection by selecting the was and other check box. It should give a success message.

Hi,

Yes the connector and WAS settings for the system are working fine the tests are successful.

Let me describe again, the page is opening but there is no data, I mean the template ID is not getting executed it seems through portal.

The page that opens ( On doing the preview of the Iview also) is showing the normal adhoc query screen as we get if we execute the following url in explorer.

http://bwdomain:port/sap/bw/BEx

my understanding is in the iview preview it should also add the cmd=ldoc&template_id=zxxxxxx string to the above string which is not happening. The bw side is ok because when I open the explorer and run the url as

http://fqdn:8010/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&template_id=Z_WT_EC_OVERDUE&sap-language=EN

it asks the bw userid and pwd and then opens the template for me.

I don't know why it is not happening from the portal.

Hi Afroz,

Then in the iview properties add the query string

cmd=idoc&template_id=Z_WT_EC_OVERDUE&sap-language=EN

Hi Arun,

I have already tried the same. But that also is not having any effect on the output. I have checked the url of the preview window, the query string is not getting attached.

Hi,

Check your WAS Settings

Give WAS Host Name as hostname:8000 (i think you have given port as 8100)both tests ok but there is a URL redirect from 8000 to 8100.

now create a BEX iview give the url what u have mentioned.

in order to check the WAS host and Port of BW system.

1)Transaction se37

2)use function module RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET

hope this solves your problem.

Hi Venkat,

Thanks a lot. That was the exact problem with me. The settings of port was not correct. I had corrected it and it worked there on.
