Manufacturing with subcontracting - Automatically purchase request generation

Hello,

I know that subcontracting in manufacturing was already debated around here (post below for instance) but in truth, maybe because I'm new on SAP Business ByDesign, I wasn't able to implement it until now.

I know that we need to have:

- A BOO representing the internal (in-house production) and subcontracted steps with reporting points.

- A BOM including the dummy material so it can reflect the subcontracting costs.

My doubt is precisely what I have to do in the BOM to add the dummy material and other steps (BOM, production model, etc.) in order to automatically create the purchase request when we are doing the production steps (tasks).

Dear Pedro,

Can you please be specific on how you are going to deal the process(Detailed) in the system? Say for example creating virtual warehouse and handle all the subcontracting over there.

Then only will get an idea and guide you on configuration part for the dummy material until purchase request(Automatic creation).
