Migrating IBM Informix to IBM DB2 Database in SAP Environment

Hi All

I am in the processing of doing a DB migration on 46C. I am migrating from Informix to DB2 UDB 8 on UNIX AIX 5.3 in SAP Enviroment.

I have exported the informix database seccussfully, and I have installed DB2 UDB 8 on the target server with fixpak 9. I have also successfully installed the Central Instance.

I am trying to import the database using R3SETUP with template CEDBMIG.R3S (as advised in the heterogenous copy guide).

The installs gets to 2% and fails with the following error:

ERROR 2006-07-13 18:05:31 DB6CREATENODEGRP_IND_DB6 InternalInstallationDo:0

Create node group failed with

DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because

it was not a

valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it

returned:

SQL0601N The name of the object to be created is identical to

the existing

name "SAPNODEGRP0" of type "DATABASE PARTITION GROUP".

SQLSTATE=42710

ERROR 2006-07-13 18:05:31 DB6CREATENODEGRP_IND_DB6 InstallationDo:0

Phase failed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rico

Please check the following things

1. You use the Ext-Kernel according to note 646444

2. How does your DBSIZE.TPL look like

( Did you adjust it somehow ?)

Some questions :

You mention , that you already successfully installed your CI .

The template CEDBMIG.R3S is for Central installations including the CI .

Any reason why not installing with current DB2 V8 Fixpack 12 ( see note 101809 ) ?

Anyhow , I recommend to open an SAP Service Call .
