Repeat Delta

Hi all,

I've been loading delta's for the past few days and today my delta failed because of some data problem in R3 side.And I rectified the Erroneous data.

Now I want to do the delta,Is it possible for me?

Somewhere I read about Repeat delta, is it soves my problem..Please guide me How do I will get my delta..

Hi !

Eventhough one delta Request is successful, it will be maintained in Delta Que Unitl the successfull delta Request from BW.

When the next DeltaRequest comes from BW,the system Checks the previous request QM Status, if its green the data belonging to that request will be deleted in Delta Que.

If it is red, Repeat Delta in Que pulls previous delta records as well as the current detlas One.

So If the request has failed , make the QM status red inorder to pull the previous delta Records

Still I have one doubt..In the "BW Delta Queue Maintaince(RSA7)" also I found the Update Modes are

1) Delta Update

2) Delta Repetition

Then what is this Delta Repetition. I thought this is the way we can do the " Repeated Delta".

If it is wrong Please correct me.

Hi Preetham,

The previous delta remains available for reload only when the delta load failed in BW. But even if it fails and if you force the request to Green, the system understands that this load was successful, and on the next delta load you will not get the records form the error load. That's why the emphasis to keep or make the request Red in the monitor.

For some datasources, like master data datasources, the Repeat mode is not available.

May I ask for your thoughts on the following situation:

2lis_03_bf data was collected on r3 extracted into BW at 2am successfully then again at 6am and then at 10am just the collect occurred. Then the BW database had to be brought down and when it was brought back up it had found a data inconsistency at 7pm from the night before. We began to roll forward but was only successful in getting it rolled forward until 2:18am. So now BW only has the request for 2am. In R3 when I view a delta repetition it shows me 3527 records and I assume this is from the 6 am run. In R3 when I view the delta records it shows me 2382 records and I assume this is from the 10 am collect.

I need to get the 3527 records from 6am and the 2382 recs from 10am into BW. Can anyone assist me please?

Hi Preetham,

You can do repeate delta.

1. First make the status(total and quality) of the request RED. and delete it from Monitor.

2. go to infopackage and schedule the infopackage, system will ask for repetition, say ok and continue.

Hi Preetham,

Yes, it is possible to 'repeat' the delta in certain cases when it fails. You can try executing the delta InfoPackage to do this. It will work so long as you did not force the errored load to Green status.
