How can a barcode in B1 identify the product batch?

Hello SAP experts

Currently we use a barcode for a particular product (EG Shampoo) but the production batch is different for each production. The barcode is printed on the Shampoo retail product but this only identifies the product Name and size but we also need to identify the Batch no - any ideas how to achieve this in SAP B1?

Sorry Juergen but this was not my question: since the batch code is already printed on our products but the issue is that we use a bar code reader to pack SAP orders(like a supermarket) so each time the packer reads the barcode from a product, an order line is processed in SAP, thus deducting the product from stock however, we have a need to deduct this from the batch quantity as well- so the end result is that we know how many Shampoos we have in stock but also, how many Shampoos of a particular Batch number we have in stock.

Keep an eye on the products in your bath room or in the super market and you will see how others are doing it.

If you want show the batch number as bar code then you need a second barcode as you can't include this information in the retail barcode

In your system you have anyway the batch number , you just can't match it with the product on the floor, hence you need this info on the product.
