Hi,

Could you please let me know the EP version and the BP of MSS?

I'd similar kind of issue as our pages were not showing in MSS with MSS BP 60.1.18 and EP 6.0 and We have resolved it by applying Add-on component WP-PI version 600.

Does your system is giving you any Authorization error?

Also you can check you system log to find what is the issue?

IF could able to make your question more specific or the issue, might be I would able to help.

Thanks

Hi Archana,

Have u assigned the MSS role to the Portal user? Only after assigning the MSS role to the portal user, the MSS tab will appear in the portal.

I have defined the authorizations and roles in R/3 and created a Manager and subordinate. I have also made the Manager-subordinate relationship. But it is not reflecting on portal. What could be the reason.

Is there any config missing out.

Kindly reply.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks. Could you please send me a doc on MSS authorizations and roles. I mean how to attach these roles and authorizations to worksets and iviews in MSS.

Please reply.

Thanks.

Sorry there isn't such a document. The document you get with the MSS business package outlines in detail all the iviews and comes with one role. Now granting permissions to roles or groups for the iviews is done based on how you are creating the roles, groups or users. Look at the help files under "permissions" on the portal. Authorisations on the R/3 back end is a big topic.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but if you have a specific problem then please ask.

HI

aLL AUTHORIZATION OF mss IS DEFINED AT BACKEND IN AUTHORIZATION PROFILES (r/3)WHILE AUTHENTICATION IS MAINTAINED IN PORTALS AS WELL YOU CAN CHECK PERMISSIONS AND SECURITY ZONES .PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO GIVE POINTS

WITH REGARDS

Subrato is correct no matter what access the portal gives an end user, the R/3 system of security and authorisations are the main "business control". The portal though has to complete the "access control". So for MSS there is the following

1) permission to the R/3 system (in system landscap and user management known as identity managment in EP7)

2) in mss business package before MSS600 there was also security zone in permissions IIRC).

3) in MSS600 permission to the webdynpro iview must be given - apart from the mss role.

Hope this helps
