little annoyance - question about copying and pasting from SAP front - end

Former Member

hello all,

I have a quick question regarding a little annoyance when it comes to copying and pasting from my front end application and R/3 enterprise.

I know about CTRL+Y, which selects blocks of text. However, if I drag my pointer in any direction, <u>I cannot copy the text <i>outside</i> of visible window area.</u>

Please help in solving this annoyance, as I'm sure there's a way to handle it.

Thank you in advance.<u></u>

Hi Sasa,

It really is an annoying problem and I will be looking at the solutions provided for this as I believe there is no solution for this issue.

If you want the whole text on the page (including those outside the visible area) in one shot, you can download it as a file. For this, you need right click on the screen and select "Save to PC file" (Shift+F8), then you can cut the whole text on to your clip board, or save the text as an excel sheet or RTF.

Hope this helps.

regards,

Raj.

Thank you both very much. I have used "quick" cut and paste" before on forms, but I have never thought about doing it on large layouts of text. Thanks again!

Hi,

There is one more option to copy & paste the text from SAP front-end.

Look for the last icon (muti-colored) in the icon list of the SAP front-end screen.

It is the <b>"Customizing of Local layout (Alt+F12)"</b>.

Click that icon & select the <b>"Quick cut & Paste"</b> option.

Now you can click & drag the mouse over the text you want to copy. Once you release the mouse, all the highlighted text will be copied automatically to the clipboard.

No need to use Ctrl+C.

Open notepad or a text editor & paste from the clipboard using Ctrl+V.

Kindly, let us know if the option is useful for you.

Best regards,

Thangesh
