Save a COPY of PDF after clicking on Print button in CRM WEB UI

Hello,

In Agent Inbox > Once we open any email > There is a standard Print button available. We have a requirement, to save a PDF version of email when user click on Print button. Is this a valid scenario ? If so, how can we achieve this ?

Hello Kumar,

There are two print buttons in email page:

1. One print button is on the toolbar in the top of the whole Email. When you click the 'print' button, the methods in the CRM backend

CL_CRMCMP_C_MAILEDITORVS_IMPL->EH_ONPRINTMESSAGE and CL_CRMCMP_C_MAILBODY_IMPL->EH_ONPRINTMESSAGE will be executed.

2. The other print button belongs to the editor, right in the body part. When click this print button, locally installed printers will be triggered.

Which button are you talking about?

I'm not aware of the Print button you mentioned in the second point. After making this print button visible on my screen, my issue is resolved now.

Hi Kumar,

Some more background info: KBA 2293990 explains how to control which print button is available for users. The client side print button also contains the option to print the E-Mail on a PDF printer if one is installed.

Also helpful: for CRM 7.0 EHP3 and above, SAP Note 2303616 improves client-side printing and ensures that more information is included.
