Bonjour,

I need to create a Sybase IQ 16 Dev database with a Sybase IQ 15.4 Prod Database but I need to keep users and passwords from my Dev env.

Now that my database is upgraded, how can I replace the current users with the users from Sybase !Q 15 env?

Thanks for your time and support

Hi,

Here is a KBA that explains how to migrate password to another IQ.

Awesom Gi-sung, exactly what I was looking for.

I'm having more following questions regarding this procedures.

If I don't wan't to remove, one by one, all users from the currently retored procedure, is there any table I can edit to remove the users (like sysusers for Sybase ASE) ??

Last but no the least, is there some ways to list users from a specific role to eventually re-assing the users to the correcte role/s following the procedure in the linked document?

Bottom line the procedure following the restore of the database :

1. drop all restored users (comming from the wrong env (prod))

2. create dev users (from the dev env) to the newly restored database

3. re-assing the correct role to the correct user once the grant connect as been executed?

Thanks again for your time, support and expertise.

Hi,

IQ system table is not allowed to edit by users.
This sp_displayroles procedure Displays all roles granted to a user-defined role or a user, or displays the entire hierarchical tree of roles.

I recommend to use Power Designer to extract those information.
You can download 30-Day trial version.
