New to SRM Development

I am looking at possibly going on a project as an ABAP resource for an SRM application. The project has been going for sometime and they have implemented a few SMARTFORMS, BADIS etc.

The requirement for me is related to Smartform development and some data loads of vendor and products as well as other ABAP related tasks.

I dont know anything about the SRM development environment.

Does anybody have a good document providing an overview for a developer?

Do the same development tools exists as standard R/3?

What are the methods to load data ? Can I use LSMW ?

Any information is appreciated

Hi,

As a developer you should be familiar with concepts of BADI's,Workflows,ITS services etc...

Also regarding the Data upload,there is Middleware and XI.So you can refer some documents on these topics too...

Also the overall integration of the different components,business/technical scenarios wil further help you understand better..

To start with you cna find the COnfiguration guides on serviceplace.

Also you can visit help.sap.com.On FORUMS itself you can find answers to many of your queries!

Hi,

In many scenarios of SRM (mySAP2004 ..), SAP supports XI is an integration tool to data upload and communicate with other SAP and Non SAP systems.

For this , XI uses Idoc,RFCs,and ABAP proxy to communicate with SRM systems.
