Internal Order: Budget

Hi folks,

My requirement is to get budget as well as plan data for Internal Orders. We already have Actuals Cube and Commitments Cube for Cost Centers/Order combined.

So I guess I'd have to have a seperate Cube for Budget data? Another issues that I noticed is that 0CO_OM_OPA_2 datasource for budget does not support delta.

I'm also not sure whether they want plan values from SEM or R/3. We already have planning cubes also for Cost Centers/Orders.

Please give suggestions as to how I should approach.

Thanks in advance.

Frank

Hi Fran,

Have you seen the business content cube for Costs and Allocations:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/10/abab39fda7b86ee10000000a114084/content.htm

Here they are loading the data from the different data sources into one cube. The strategy for the data laod from this datasource wcould be once a period, after period closing. Else if you need to increase the frequency (like weekly) you can use a selection for the period and set up automatic request deletion in the InfoPackage.

You can also see this for details:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cb/149b3979e90e1be10000000a114084/content.htm

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply.

What is the difference between getting the plan values from R/3 vs getting them from SEM cubes?

Why would we choose one over the other.

Thanks

Frank

Hi Fran,

I think that is a choice that the business needs to make...not much to be said from a developer point of view.

Is there a place on help.sap where I can see details of datasources...not infosources...for business content?

Sure...just like here:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/de43fcf6e2154bbbbcecbc63cdf287/content.htm

Click on the "red arrow" button next to the word Budget. It will open up the navigation pane.

Hope this helps...

Using 0CO_OM_OPA_3, we can get the same budget that we can with 0CO_OM_OPA_2 ??

If you look at your link, it says "saphelp_bw30b". My link is "saphelp_nw04". What version of BW are you on? If you are on 3.5 then please use the NW2004 help...
