SAP Workflow builder

Hi all,

I'm trying to build a workflow basing on a specific operation I should automatize in SAP Business One.

Since I'm new to SAP Workflows, I found some guides and books referring to the "Workflow Builder" program, which seems to me a little bit old and no longer used.

The only way to create a workflow as today is using SAP Studio, am I right? But many of the operations described in the guides (show up a form, for instance) refer to functions I can't see in SAP Studio.

So is there another tool to create Workflows today or the only platform that can do it is SAP studio, which seems very limitating?

Thank you

Gionata

In S/4 HANA , Workflows are designed and used same as in ECC..

Created in SWDD and can you same T codes as in ECC.

Only Database will be differed.

Thanks for the reply but among your links there is no one referring on how to connect the workflow to a user form.

The things which is missing in every tutorial, IMO, is how to adapt the workflow to a manual operation performed by the user.

I would perform a simple operation:

User gives input through a form -> User confirms form -> Another form with data providied in the previous form appears and asks for additional input -> All this data is computed and returns a result

And I can't figure it out. Please someone give me some advice about it. Thank you

I'm sorry but I can't get what you do mean for "SWDD". In my installation of SAP Business One I can't find any additional component named so. Are you *maybe* referring to the other version of SAP (not the B1)?

Please help me beacuse I'm not able to find enough documentation about this

Thank you

Hi Gionata,

Call transaction SWDD.

The central tool for creating, displaying and processing a workflow is the workflow builder (Transaction SWDD). Within the workflow builder you can create all components of a workflow, including all the containers you need for getting the data from one step to another.

Generally, most of the workflows are started by an event (for example, when a material is created or when a new purchase requisition arrives). You define which data from this event needs to be passed to the workflow via binding.

However you can also start any workflow directly. Let us create a simple workflow and start the workflow directly, using the testing tools.

When the workflow builder is called for the first time, a newly created initial workflow definition appears or else last created workflow appears. In such cases you can opt to create a new workflow by pressing “Create New Workflow”(ctrl + shft + F5). The following screen appears.

Hope this answer help you .
