Default Maintenance Plant based on Planning Plant

Hi Experts,

I am hitting issues where the maintenance plant on the location tab of maintenance orders has not been filled in. We run a single maintenance plant per planning plant so is there anyway to default the Maintenance Plant to the Planning Plant that is entered in the initial screen?

Additional info I have made it mandatory on OIAZ also (to try and at least force the users to enter details) but it is not validated unless the Location screen is selected. I have seen note 2302014 so realise this can be fixed by coding.

Ideally I'd like a simple way to pull the planning plant into the maintenance plant so the user doesn't even need to consider the field.

Thanks,

Jez

Hi Peter,

I did not know about that functionality but unfortunately Maintenance Plant is not on there, it would have worked, as my users are assigned to single plants. I had already tried the SWK parameter in a similar vein but this also fails (we have tried several parameters in PM with no success, but that is straying off topic). Thanks for the help as always, I think we may just have to grin and bear it.

Ttry setting the plant in your default values:

IW32->Extras->Settings->Default Values

Thanks Peter, I was using IW81 which is refurbishment order and I'm not actually entering the equipment. I apologise for not mentioning this in the original question, I made the leap it was across all the order types, but you are correct in IW31 it already defaults.

Is it possible to derive the maintenance plant from a material?

Put the data in the equipment/functional location, it will then default into the Location tab automatically.
