Frustrated. OK, I just want to simply straighten out a link or line, but cannot figure it out. Followed documentation - does not work. Cannot be this hard.

Ctrl-L (straighten vertical) and Ctrl-H (straighten horizontal) work well, though sometimes you need to have not only the line selected but the things it is attached to. Make sure your format for the line is set correctly. If your line is free-form and it has points on it they may not line up. If you have layout on your toolbar there are several tools to help there too. Right click on your toolbar and make sure it is checked.

If you right-click a line, then select the Disposition menu, you'll see a number of options for laying out the line. How they work depends on whether or not you have auto-routing turned on for the diagram.

Is this the option you've tried?

Also, you can remove individual corners - select the linem then hold down the Ctrl key while you click on a corner (click on the square)
