LIS Setup Tables handling during BW Migration

Hi

We are migrating and upgrading SAP BW to 7.4 SP 16

I was wondering how do we handle Setup Tables during the migration process.

We tried to migrate the system and got an error (Please See the Screenshot attachment)

So in order to resolve it I delete the contents of the setup tables and we were able to migrate it successfully.

Now my question is that :

1. Do we have to delete the contents of the setup tables in production environment before we migrate.

2. If Yes, what impact do we have on the Delta.

3. What are the post processing steps after we migrate, I mean do we need to initialize the load and then load the delta again.

I would appreciate if you advise how to handle this and what else we need to test once we migrate in production environment.

Thank You

there is no risk in deleting the contents of the setup tables. These are only used for delta inits. No impact on the running delta.

Thanks Mario

So I believe we would need to fill up the setup tables again once we are finished the migration into new environment , Correct ?

Also can you please advise if we need to activate or replicate all the data sources in BW , this is the first time I am doing BW migration so not sure what are the impacts.

Thanks

the setup tables are only used for inits. so no need to run them after the migrate.

there should be no need to replicate/activate the datasources. but you can check this when you upgrade a test system
