How can I update/modify contacts using the UI?

Hi,

I have created contacts manually ('Create' button) and also imported contacts from a CSV file using the Fiori app, but afterwards I do not see any option to update / modify contacts.

How can I update an existing contact?

Hi Alejandro,

Open the Contact Profile of the Contact (e.g. by clicking the name of the Contact in the Contacts list).

In the Contact Profile you will find a pen icon next to the name. Once you click this you can change most of the data you entered during manual create.

Similar to the uploaded contacts, once you upload them again (assuming you are not changing the email address) the changed attributes will be updated.

I cannot see any pen next to the name, I only get the pen next to 'Maintain social media' text, and I can add links, also upload a image, because of this I guess it is not an authorisation issue. Any idea why I cannot see the pen?

Even with SAP ALL authorization on Hybris Marekting 1605 contacts cannot be edited directly.

Besides authoriztion, I think the Hybris Marketing version also plays a role.

Is it normal for Hybris Marketing 1608 not to update contacts without displaying pen icons?

Because the pen icon is displayed in the free trial environment of Hybris Marketing, is the version of the free trial environment 1611 or more?

yes, you are correct. The free trial is on a higher release (1702) and hence having the change functionality.

In 1608 change functionality is not available.

Sorry for the confusion, you are right. The above described feature is only available as of release 1611.

Still in general it needs to be understood, that the SAP Hybris Marketing Solution is not the leading system for maintaining contact data.

The contact data should always be updated at the source side, meaning in the XLS you are using for upload or in the connected source system like C4C, ERP etc.

I understand the concept, but it is weird that the system allows you to create Contacts (using UI) and not update them, that should be basic functionality, it should have been included before 1611.
