Web: dropdown box defaulted to value ALL

Hi friends,

In my web report I have included dropdown box for filtering selected valaues.

Every time when I executed report it defaulted to the value ALL in the dropdown box intead to any other filtered values listed.

since the value defaulted to `ALL it is taking long time to execute.

please someone help me with Jscript code that change the default value in dropdown lsit box in theweb report.

Hi Veer,

did you think of using a query view instead of the query for your web report? If you set a filter on a single value of the dropdown box, this value becomes default for the start view of your web report.

Actually i have a QUERY not the view.

I have not worked on defining views previously. Can u help me how to define a view

Is there any other way I can change the default value in dropdown box

Hi Veer,

I think there should be a way to modify the selection in a dropdown box using JavaScript, but first using a view might be easier to implement and second I am not sure if a JavaScript solution might catch all values and afterwards change the value in dropdownbox so there is no speed up...

To define a view choose in Web Application Designer "Tools" -> "View Definition". Select your query and afterwards define desired filters on characteristics and key figures. Finaly save the view and assign it to your web items.

In my Web Application Designer "Tools" -> "View Definition link is not active here.

I can see wizard, query designer, view definition ,settings but view definition is not active

You can also try to create a view

1. execute query in Standard Web Template and press "Save" button

2. in Analyzer there is an option "Save View global" or anything similar...

Before saving the view, of course you have to set the drilldown / filtering you want to save.
