Hi,

ALV control is nothing but a screen element. So, if you want to handle your events of the screen (Not the ALV) you need PAI and populate the data on the screen, you need the PBO, its not different from a dialog program.

In the PAI you can force the events of the ALV grid to fire.

Ravi

Hi ravi,

Thanks for the reponse. How to mark the helpful answers?

and one more clarification that suppose we are using the ALV grid OOPS concept we have to incorporate the PBO and PAI events. Is my understanding is correct?

Hi,

Yes its mandatory to set the menu and handle the function codes (PAI) in a screen program. So, OO ALV uses the same concept.

Hello Anu,

Since in OOP's ALV, we will create the screen to load the customer container.Hence in order to trigger the Fcodes and to set the Pf status of the screen. We should incorparate the PBO and PAI events.
