Can Fiori Launchpad Catalogs be used to filter tiles in groups?

Hey there!

This is our requriement:

  • Role1 sees groups "time" and "benefits" in it's launchpad. In "time" it sees tiles "CATS" and "Requests".
  • Role2 sees groups "time" and "PersonalData" in it's lanunchpad. In "time" it sees tiles "CATS", "Requests" and "Tracking"

I tried the following way:

  • Tiles "CATS" and "Requests" are in flpd-catalog1. Tile "Tracking" in flpd-catalog2.
  • All three tiles are added to the group "time"
  • the group "time" is assigned to Role1 and Role2.
  • Catalog1 is assigned to Role1 and Catalog1 AND Catalog2 are assigned to Role 2.

In my opinion Role1 is now not allowed to see tile "Tracking". But in realitity this does not work.

Is it a bug? If yes, could you suggest a solution?

If my concept won't work, could you provide an other solution?

Thank you very much!

Kind regars!

Wolfgang

Here are few the concepts.

- The Catalog is used for providing the authorization to access the app.

- The Group is used to decide which apps appear in your FLPD when you open it. (Apps which are not available in Groups can be accessed using personalization).

- Group does not control authorization. But Catalog controls authorization.

Hi!

Thanks. So it is not possible to give two users different tiles in the same groups?

Thanks!

Dear Wolfgang,

It's not a bug. You can handle using Tile Group authorizations.

Create 2 groups like Group1, Group2, one with catalog: flpd-catalog1 and another with catalog:flpd-catalog2.

Role1: Give Group1 authorization

Role2: Give Group1 and 2 Authorization.
