What are the Roles in R/3 which are needed to be given for ESS/MSS users?

Hi All,

I am implementing ESS/MSS for R/3 4.7 on EP 6.0 WAS 6.40 .What roles are needed to be given in R/3 so that the users are able to use ESS and ESS/MSS both.

One of the roles in R/3 is SAP_ESS.

Thanks for replying back.I have found one Role called SAP_ESSUSER in R/3 which I have assigned to one Portal user.But when I open his account I am still not able to access some of the iviews like inbox ,pay slip, form 16 etc.

Hi Pavan

u can assign SAP_EMPLOYEE_ERP role to employee which is composite role.

which contain following role.

SAP_BC_EMPLOYEE

SAP_BC_ENDUSER

SAP_ESSUSER_ERP

SAP_HR_EMPLOYEE_DE_ERP

SAP_HR_EMPLOYEE_US_ERP

SAP_HR_PA_XF_EXPERT

mainitian the authorization for all role using tcode-pfcg, generate the profiles and completet the user comparisation.

if u don't have the full authorization for PFCG ask ur basis person to do this.

(this is usefull to RUN ESS from portal)

make sure your user will need authorization object (S_SERVICE)

add this object in the Role that u used. (PFCG)

As kaushal has mentioned attach these single roles

SAP_BC_EMPLOYEE

SAP_BC_ENDUSER

in to composite role SAP_ESSUSER

TO view the payslip and form 16 i think you have to attach

SAP_FI_EMPLOYEE
