Hi,

We are developing a HANA Cloud Portal for a Customer in which there is a requirement of getting ECC data to HANA Cloud Platform and store that in HANA Tables.

We are going to use this data in a Ui5 Application on Portal.

Scenario : Lets say we have a Customer against whom sales order gets punched in ECC, so there needs to be a task that runs that takes the fields which we require on the Portal from the ECC Sales order and adds them on the HANA Cloud Database Table. This task should ideally run twice a day.

Kindly suggest how we can proceed with this requirement.

Hi

You have a good number of options to explore, i’ve listed a few of them.

  • You can use HANA Cloud Integration Services (HCI) to get data from ECC to HANA on SCP. But you`ll probably need to buy an additional service from SCP. If you don’t have a lot of integrations to manage, the cost may be a problem, but sure you must check it out.
  • The same way as HCI you have HANA Smart Data Integration (SDI), that comes with an extra license on SCP. With SDI, you can replicate data from your back-end to HANA, or even access your ECC tables as virtual tables on HANA.
  • If you don’t want to go with additional service costs, you can develop your own integration. One option is to create a xsjob on HANA to retrieve data from your back-end, through SAP Gateway OData Services, or standard SOA RFC.
  • Additionally, if you don’t really need to replicate your data, you can go and access your data from your back end, using RFC or OData(SAP Gateway) directly from your app.

Hope this help you find the best option for your use case
