Hi all,

Here i have 2 doubts

1.Why we use setup tables?

2.When we run full/init loads ,if the load gets failed, can v again load the data, will the data be there in setuptables(if v didnt delete setup tables).

Hi Dheepa,

Access to application tables are not permitted, hence setup tables are there to collect the required data from the application tables.

When a load fails, you can re-run the load to pull the data from setup tables. Data will be there in setup tables.

I think it's better if you fill up the setup table again and then schedule the full-load/init load.

Hi Raj,

But can u tell me why we have to fill setup tables again if the previous structure remains same in setup tables?

Hi,

when running setup table job at r/3 side, you need to back sure no transaction is happening in R/3 ( even background job). if you are sure that nothing has happened since last run then no need to run setup job again.

otherwise you need to run it again or you will loose the data which is changes /added/deleted since last set up.

hope it helps

Hi Dheepa,

It is to ensure that you dont miss any data that happened after that previous failed load.
