configuring custom reports in ep 6.0 sp 15

hi all,

i implemented a custom report, based on the sap document "implementing customer reports using the km reporting api" (i am using EP 6.0 SP 15).

the report seems to be successfully deployed in the portal, since i didn't see error messages after deploying it and the report appeared in "Content Management >> Repository Managers >> Reports" view and was marked active.

trying to configure the report to appear in the "Content Management >> Reports" view, following the above mentioned documentation, i was surprised that the standard reporting repository manager form looks completely different from the one in the doumentation (the list of active reports was missing)!!

i also tryed to configure the custom report by editing it in the "Content Management >> Repository Managers >> Reports" view, following the configuration of previously configured standard reports like "Resource Statistics". this also didn't work.

any body has an idea how to configure custom reports to appear in the "Content Management >> Reports" view?

many thanks in advance.

Hi Sami,

have you tried to create a new entry under "Content Management >> Repository Managers >> Reports", where you specify the "Implementing Java Class" and also the "Initial Access (Roles)" (ie: ContentManager) and also "Initial Path" (ie: Content Management/Tools/custom.report). After you have save it you can navigate in "KM Content -> (root >) Reporting > Reports > Content Management > Tools" and check if a new report folder for you report is created and also check the folders permission (Content Manager role should have "Full Control" permission).

If the report folder is there you should be able to access the report (with the Content Manager role).

Hope this helps,

Robert

thanks robert for your tip.

well i already configured the report the way you described. i then found it under:

"Root > Reporting > Reports".

i now realized that to the report to appear in the "Content Management >> Reports" view, i've got to move it to

"Root > Reporting > Reports > Content Management > Tools"

through the "Content Administration > KM-Content" navigation. now everything is ok.

cheers, sami.

Hi Sami,

strange, if the parameter "Initial Path" was set correctly it should land under Tools.

Nevertheless, I'm happy that you got it working.

You might like to mark the question as solved then, and use the colored star if you want

Thanks and best regards,

Robert
