Hello experts,

We are going to migrate & upgrade SAP NW7.0 to SAP NW 731 with same OS platform.

Source system: SAP NW7.0

OS: Windows 2003

Oracle 11G

Target system: SAP NW731

OS: windows 2012

Oracle 12C

So please suggest how to proceed.

Scenario:

1st we can upgrade windows 2003 to 2008 server(PAM does not meet 731 on windows 2003 server) after that upgrade SAP NW7 to SAP NW731 then perform the homogenous system copy to windows 2012(other box).

Regards,

SAP Basis

Hi Vivek,

I have adjusted the tags on your question to more closely reflect the subject of upgrade and system copy on a Windows/Oracle system.

Cheers,
Matt

You have not mentioned size of DB and what stack is your system (ABAP or DUAL or JAVA). So general suggestion will be the option you specified or below

1. Perform homogeneous system copy using SWPM to new machine with Oracle 12 G and Windows 2012.

2. Upgrade the new installed system to from 7.0 to 731

Perform system copy to move the system to Windows 2012 with Oracle 12c. Once the system copy has been completed you should upgrade the system to NW 731. The best would be to perform an R3load (export/import) based system copy which will let you setup the target system with Oracle 12c.
