Greetings:

I am based in houston, been programming Microsoft Technologies for the last 10 years.

I am considering moving to SAP, please suggest what i start working on to learn SAP.

Any inputs are greatly appreciated.

Hi Scott Searl,

I recommend you to learn ABAP Programming Language.

This is very basic in SAP.

It will really help you a lot.

From .NET you can communicate with SAP only through RFCs and IDOCs.

You can create custom RFCs and IDOCs through SAP Logon GUI only if you know ABAP.

ABAP is a backbone of SAP.

If you have worked in Microsoft Share point portal then it is better to move to SAP Enterprise Portal. You need Java knowledge also.

You can go for SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP-XI).
