Error connecting to ftp server

Hi people,

I try to connect the XI server with R/3 development mandant to extract a file and send it to XI server but in the runtime, in the adapter monitoring the system return me this error: ( Error connecting to ftp server 'localhost: java.lang.NullPointerException ).

Someone know what is the problem?
