Deplete inventory then block Sales Orders

Hello all,

We currently have a couple of materials on which we are stopping production; however we still maintain a few in inventory.

We would like to deplete this inventory through sales orders until the stock on hand reaches zero, then block the material from being ordered.

I know that we can do this manually once stock reaches zero by using the material status setting in the material master Sales View; however I was curious if anyone knew of an automated way (a setting in the material master) to block the sales orders once inventory levels reach zero?
