ESS Error

Hi,

I am implementing ESS using ERP 2004 & EP06 for the first time (for UK).

While accessing Bank Information service, I am getting a following error:-

Data record 0000005000090 9999123120060401000 has grouping value "" instead of "08"

I have performed the following regular diagnostics:-

a) Checked the UGR parameter, it was 08.

b) Changed the UGR parameter, and logged-off and logged back in the portal and checked, but the error continues.

Please assist me to resolve this.

Many thanks in Advance

Sunil

You've probably all worked it out by now, but here's a fix which worked for us, and is along the lines of the fix detailed in OSS note 1020624. We are also not using concurrent employment.

You create a new entry in V_T582G for infty 0009 subtype 1, with grouping X.

The grouping error no longer occurs.

Cheers.

Hi Sunil,

There is issue with the pernr that is used to run the ESS application. There is some inconsistency in the used pernr record.

To solve this issue you have to run few reports mentioned in Note 783499 and Note 845592 especially RPUFIXDS.

This error is bacause there is a mismatch between infotype record GPVAL values generated through ESS and GPVAL values generated through PA30.This is so because ESS uses a new set of logic called Infotype Framework(ITF) to create infotype records. When ESS uses the ITF to edit records created through PA30, it reports the mismatch as an error.

In general, what you need to do is to ensure that the grouping value generated by the infotype framework for ESS matches the PA30 value.

When you run reports mentioned in Note, uncheck test run. This will remove inconsistencies in pernr's record. Try running the scenario again.

Please reward if you find it useful.

Cheers:)

Ruchi.

Hi sunil,

This problem happens because of some inconsistensies . Please run the report 'RPUFIXDS' , specify the pernr which you are using, then uncheck 'Test Run' Run the report after these settings are done.

That should resolve your issue. If you face any isssues, please let me know.

Hi Shradha,

Many thanks for your quick reply, I did not know about report RPUFIXDS . Now I know about it, that's fantastic.

After I ran this report for the specific employee, I got the following messge :-

Data record 0000005000090 9999123120060401000 has grouping value "" instead of "08"

Message no. PBAS_SERVICE039

Diagnosis

The data record with the key 0000005000090 9999123120060401000 was saved with the grouping value "." The system, however, determined the grouping value "08."

Procedure for System Administration

The inconsistency described above can have several causes. The most likely causes are:

  • Customer-specific settings for grouping infotypes have been changed without the database being adjusted accordingly.

  • A customer program was used to add data to the database, without reference to the grouping values.

  • The infotype is not supposed to be grouped, but the grouping mechanism was activated inadvertently.

Which table do need to check the configuration or where do I assign in system to change the grouping value to make this service work?

pls help.

Hi Shradha,

I have gone through OSS notes 783499 and 845592. These notes are more towards Concurrent Employment, at the present implementation we do not use this functionality.

We are at HR patch level 22, which is the latest released patch.

I tried running report RPUFIXDS as suggested. The return values of this report refers to inconsistancies in two fields i.e. V_T582G-GPRSN and T7CCE_GPRULE-GPRUL.

Both the above tables are related to Concurrent Employment and this confuses me.

I have logged this error message to SAP.

Any additional advise from you to assist me to resolve this?

Kind regards

Sunil

Hi Sunil,

If you are using ERP2004, then these notes will not be useful. It is a bit difficult to solve this problem in ERP2004. Please raise a ticket to SAP for further info.
