Hi all,

I am very much new to EP. I was doing java programming one year before. But currently I am working on dotnet technologies.

Now my firm is gonna implement EP 6.0

Can any one suggest me from where should i start learning?

Kindly list down the basic requirements to move up fast.

Thanks in advance

Hi. The best way to learn is to do, right? You can download a sneak preview version of the java engine which includes EP. Then you can start developing applications to run in your personal portal.

You can download from here.

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6

You don't really need a portal to start developing applications for the portal. You can run them straight off of the engine. THis is what I do. If that is what you want, then download the slim addition.

If you really want to install a portal as well as the engine, then download one of the other java version.

3) refer help document (http://help.sap.com/ep/)

4) Intract with sdn froum (www.sdn.sap.com)

Hi Shobin,

I think the best way to start learning EP is to listen to actual presentations given by Experts. There a really a bunch of presentations available in eLearning of SDN.

The following link for Basics:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/elearn?rid=/webcontent/uuid/adf5275e-0501-0010-5aa5-d29504a6c708

Choose the presentations based on the topic level. Say for instance

"Introduction to SAP NetWeaver ". Once you understand the architecture of NetWeaver and where EP stands in it, then you will gain momentum and learn quickly.

The following link is the list of all areas where eLearning Videos and presentations are found.

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/elearn

Hope this helps,

Good Luck,

Kumar
