Hello,
I'm trying to connect two NetWeaver 2004s. I configured a new RFC-Connection. The connection test works fine. But I cannot execute a Remote Login. It just does not happen anything, when I press the button "Remote login".
I'm looking for a solution since many days, and I don't find any solution.
Any idea?
Regards,
Tommaso
Hi Bapujee,
Yes of course you are right and I knew about it as well However I just mentioned dialog user becasue most of the times I prefer working with them for such requirements. But yes Service user is very much an option.
Thanks and regards.

Hello Tommaso,
It can happen only in this case if the user id given is a system user or communication user. Suppose you have two system X and Y and you are creating RFC destination for Y in system X. Then for remote logon the user id you are using should exist in Y as dialog user. Just check in System Y the user id credentials using transaction Y. Once set to dialog user it would work.

Tommaso,
If you set up your RFC destinations with the security/logon information, the "Remote Logon" button wil merely check that the user specified can log on to the remote system, if you wish to see some interactivity, remove the user you have specified from the security/logon screen in the creation of the RFC, then you will be asked for a logon screen for the remote system.

Hi,
"The connection test works fine. But I cannot execute a Remote Login. It just does not happen anything, when I press the button "Remote login"."
that means the type of the user you are using is either a communication or system user.
If you want a remote login to happen it should be either a dialog user or a service user.

Dear Tommaso,
set the trace flag with the connection you are using and then check the gateway trace file (dev_rd) for errors. You can also check if there is an unfilled entry in the target system in SM04 (which would indicate that the connection was made). You can also do a user trace of the remote logon attempt (set from SM04) and see if there are errors in the user trace.

Tim

Hello Tommaso,
maybe you are using a communication user (such as CSMREG). The remote logon user must be interactive.
Please check this.

Dieter
