Free Service Purchase order

Hi Experts,

Greetings of the day!

I wanted to create a free purchase order for service procurement in ECC and currently using ME21N tcode. As per the scenario we are getting a service free of cost for procurement of a material and we wanted to create a line item in purchase order.

I understand that the free-indicator can be used for free materials but I the indicator get disabled the moment I select item category D.

Even I tried to set the Free indicator before the item category D is entered but later system is showing me the error message "Message No. SE650 - Combination of GR/IR control not allowed for external services"

Therefore I wanted to know if it is possible to create a free service purchase order in standard system or not.

You can create a service item, add the service line and set the line type as "Informatory Line".

It is by design that you cannot have service POs free of charge, see point 5 in OSS note 329437 - ME21N: Functions not available

Hi Hidyath,

Select the Service Line item in your service tab at your purchase order, click on details push button. Here in "line Type" select Informative line for your service line item.
