Batch Characteristics Value in Range

Hi

I want to create a batch characteristics where user is able to enter the characteristics value in range. for example 10 - 20 or 10 > x > 20. If the batch value is 15 , during batch search strategy system will be able to pick up the batch since it is within the range.

I have tried setting the characteristics with data type NUM (Numeric Format) but during VCH1 (search strategy) I cannot enter value in range example 10 - 20 or 10 > x > 20.

Please advise how to setup the characteristics so that Im able to enter the value in range.
