hi,

I have a BW system (with web portal) with sap netwaver 7.0 with dual stack abap+java , Reviewing the end of maintenance dates we have seen that:

SAP NTWEAVER 7.0(BW) Java Stack : 31.12.2017
Abap Stack: 31.12.2025

Therefore we have thought to upgrade to BW SAP netwaver java stack 7.40 y ABAP stak 7.01>=SP06 , the minimum level of abap stack compatible with java stack 7.40).

we believe that before the upgrade we have to do the split of the staks but we are not sure.

Has anyone had to do this? Can the upgrade be done at the same time or do you have to do the java stack first and then the abap or the reverse?

If anyone has experience in this, we would greatly appreciate all the information they can give us.

Best Regards.

Hi Edurne,

Upgrade and dual stack split can be done sequentially, First upgrade your system to 7.4 as dual stack and then perform dual stack split.

OR you can perform dual stack split on current release and then perform the technical upgrade. Refer below link.

For your current and targeted releases there are some internal changes in terms of security, infoobject structure etc. which need to be considered.

Take a look at below link and plan your upgrade:
