Hello everyone,

I am working with reports and data sources and I would like to know if there is an easy way to find a standad field`s or object`s data source, right now I am just opening all data sources, one by one, in search of the fields I need.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Fernando.

In Fact, Cloud for Customer doesn't have any standard documentation for Data Sources and fields.

I do the same as you do when looking for fields, I try to filter by the sub category, like if the field is related to Sales, or employee, I try to go to Data Sources which the description give me some hints about what is in it.

I also try the Business ByDesign Data Source documentation, which have many of the same Data Sources and fields that We have in Cloud for Customer. I often do a basic search, looking for the fields I want, if I find it, I go into the platform and check if the Data Source exists in cloud for Customer. It saves some time for me, but it doesn’t work sometimes, since Cloud for Customer have some different Data Sources.

You can find this documentation following this link:

https://help.sap.com

Search for something like “Data Source Documentation By Design”, if you include month and the current year, you will get the last version available.

I am attaching an image, as example.

Best regards.
Mi.
