Should Business Document or Interaction be used for SAP CAR data in Hybris Marketing

Hi,

Hybris Marketing and CAR will be co-deployed . We have the requirement to log the transaction against the contact (B2C) . Should we use Interaction or Business Document?

Scenario: SAP CAR will have more than one line items (for articles) with all the transaction data, what is the best practice . Should we create Business Document or Interaction?

    Hi Dominic,

    it is highly recommended to use interactions instead the original business documents which are replicated from CAR. Reason for that is the fact that through interactions you have full integration into the core marketing processes in contact profiling, segmentation and recommendations. You get the CAR-transactions instantly in the customer factsheet and can use the transaction for segmentation and recommendations.

    Also from a data volume perspective you should not be scared, because typically are the relevant CAR data not residing too long in marketing but can be removed by means of data aging functionality in time properly.
