Hi
I would like to know what version of XI comes with Netweaver 2004s and what is the procedure to install and configure it? I have heard that the procedure is not the same as that of Netweaver 2004. The istallation will be done on WAS 7.0, right? What are the advantages of doing the installtion of XI from Netweaver 2004s over that of Netweaver 2004.
Thank.
Rohan
Hi Zadie
Just a small clarification. You said that we need to follow the NW04 Master Guide. That would mean that you installed your XI 3.0 on WAS 6.40. Can we have an XI 3.0 on WAS 7.0 as well? Will the installation process remain the same?
Thanks.
Rohan

Hi All,
Below are the main rlease differences.
1. NW04------>640 Basis/Abap/J2ee
NW2004s--->700 Basis/Abap/J2ee
2. SLD Component User Interface is changed in NW2004s release.
3. Lot of new j2ee components are installed in NW2004s release. To find out the different j2ee components in the two releases check the link: http://<HostName>:<Port#>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo
Thanks

So did you installed the NW 2004s SLD. I mean did you installed PI 7.0 SLD or totally XI 3.0 and its SLD on WAS 7... I just wanna know whether we can install XI 3.0 with PI 7.0 SLD.Becoz PI 7.0 is recommended on 64bit hardware.
Any addons/Suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
RSN

Hi,
I am currently working on XI 3 running on 2004s. XI 3 is the latest release of XI, and you are right 2004s is WAS 7.
To install we followed the main Netweaver installation guide, and then the XI installation guide and finally follow the XI configuration guide.
In summary:
NW04 Master Guide
SAP XI release 3.0 SR1 Installation Guide
SAP XI release 3.0 SPS16 Configuration Guide
(top tip - do exactly what the guides say in the right order!)
I know that there is a new version of the Demo Configuration guide (for PI instead of XI) which I used to config the demos, but it doesn't really differ from the XI 3.0 doc.
Hope that helps
