Hi All,

I have a characteristic InfoObject that I need to edit to make change for data length.

How to edit and change its length and other properties?

Hi Pradeep,

You can edit an Infoobject in RSD1. Type in the name of the InfoObject and click the Maintain button. There may be issues with changing the Length if data has already been loaded.

Hope this helps...

Hello Bhanu,

The data was not loaded for this IO. But this object was created with 0POSTAL_CD as reference object.

How do I do this now? I tried RSD1 already to change, but the length field does not let me edit.

If it is an object created as a reference, then you can only change the property of the 'master' object, in your case 0POSTAL_CD...

You may also want to consider creating your own InfoObject, instead of modifying the data length of a std InfoObject...

I dont think I have access to change this SAP object.

Can I just delete my own Z-Object and re-create with same name, but with the length I need?

Nagesh, I want to increase the length and therz no data loaded.

Yes, you can do that. When creating, if you like, you can specify 0POSTAL_CD as the Template object (not Reference). This will copy all the properties for you and then yu can change the length as reqd.

Hope this helps...

Pradeep,

reference IO will share the same Master data tables.

suppose io1 and io2 wehave 2 objects. while creating io2 you have used io1 reference. you need change in io1. then changes will be copied to io2.

Remove it from being the Attr of the other InfoObject and then try to delete it again...

you can make chaneg the length of the infoobject in themaintenance screen of the Infoobject. some times you will face problem while activating the info object. at that you need to convert the table.

you need to convert the table in SE14.

1. check with your basis you find any problem in the transport.

2. r u increasing the length or decreasing? that's all depends on the data also.

all the best,

Nagesh Ganisetti.
