Dear Scn Users,

We have an Ansi to XML scenario where we need to convert 846 message to XML.

The issue here is in GS segment additional texts are added in the version as below(UCS)

004010UCS

Is there a way to handle this by adding Key in B2B toolkit or we need to handle using Java mapping

Hi Raghuraman,

It looks like you can edit the GS segment directly if you copy the 846 or any other Ansi x12 message to your own control key. You can add as many defined data elements as necessary for this custom version of the segment and then generate and import the required XSD into the ESR Taking that approach you would be able to do all of the required steps as one graphical mapping to your intended target message type. I have never had this type of requirement so I cannot say with confidence but it looks like it is a possibility for you.

Thanks Ryan,

So in the B2B cockpit we need to add the custom control record and elements right?

Hi Raghuraman,

Yes, so you would go into the cockpit and pull up the 846 version 4010 message and copy it to a new control key via the Message Editor. Then you can load that control key from the same screen via the drop down (choose custom one instead of SAP it will show the list of messages you have copied). After that you can choose the other drop down for Segments and find the GS segment where you can alter it as per your needs. Depending on the level of customization that is added you may look at creating one or more data elements that you would append to the end or possibly reuse some existing one(s). After the adjustment is made you should be able to use the XSD Generator to create a file for import into the ESR.
