Hi,
my customer wants to use SAP Transaction IW31 (Plant Maintenance Order) in the Browser GUI of the portal.
The Release is 4.6 C.
My question: Are these transaction web-enabled ? Via ITS?
Where should I start looking?
Hi Stumm,
Yes you can host these tranx on Portal.
if you are using an embedded ITS then you have to create subsequent Internet Service in the tranx SICM and then create an IAC ivew for the same(i mean internet service created).
If you are ussing an external ITS you can directly Activate the Tranx IW31 in SICF and create a tranx iview.

I was able to look at three scenarios:
1. Using ITS (internal or external) with Iview "SAP-Transaction and option HTTP-GUI Like Javed described.
2. Using Iview "SAP-Transaction" with either JAVA-GUI or SAP GUI via server provided GUI. In this case, I don't need an ITS, like James described. But GUI via Portal seems to be a bit clumsy.
Any other scenario I missed?
thx hs
Holger,
Both options will work. GUI for Portal is heavy (clumsy as you put it), but some users/organizations do this for power users (users heavily on BW, BI, etc.) wherein the BI,BW portal dashboards do not deliver some transactions out of the standard portal BI/BW iViews. Obviously, the user also has access to the Fat Client SAP GUI which requires a login. SAP GUI within portal does not need login, as this is established via SSO/NTLM.

Holger,
Once you enable single sign-on from SAP Portal to R/3 backend, any R/3 transaction will work on the portal, even without using ITS, since you are on 4.6c
